The Nebraska Department of Education has opened the comment period for draft revisions to Title 92, Nebraska Administrative Code, Chapter 11 also know as Rule 11. Rule 11 applies to prekindergarten programs established by public schools for children from birth to age 5. The comment period began on Thursday, July 17, and ends on Wednesday, July 30. After the open comment period ends, the Department will publish a notice for a public hearing on the rule change.

The most significant changes to the Rule being proposed include implementation of compulsory kindergarten-entrance age definitions enacted into law in LB71 last year, streamlining of the waiver process for certified teachers, and alternative program requirements for classroom staff.
