Evaluation Opportunity for Nebraska’s Early Childhood Quality Rating System
In 2013, the Nebraska Legislature passed LB507, establishing the Step Up to Quality Child Care Act – resulting in Nebraska’s Early Childhood Quality Rating and Improvement System. The implementation of Step Up to Quality is in the early stages but much has occurred in its development that will provide valuable information for moving forward.
First Five Nebraska is releasing a Request for Proposals (RFP) link to RFP pdf inviting those interested in applying to submit a proposal to evaluate the development and implementation of Nebraska’s Early Childhood Quality Rating and Improvement System. Proposals are due November 24, 2014, and the collection of data will occur from January – December 1, 2015.
A webinar/conference call will be offered on Wednesday, September 10, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Central Time to answer any questions related to the RFP. If you are interested in participating in the webinar, please send your name and email address to Megan Buse at mbuse@firstfivenebraska.org and you will receive information on how to access the webinar. Questions asked at the webinar and the answers given will be posted on our website at www.firstfivenebraska.org. You can also access a copy of the RFP on this site.
Thank you to all who are interested in this opportunity to evaluate Nebraska’s new quality rating and improvement system. We see it as an important tool to improve the quality of early care and education services in our state and, thus, increase positive outcomes for young children. We are eager to measure its success!
Sincerely,
Becky Veak, Director
First Five Nebraska
